Shred Day to Benefit American Cancer Society Hope Lodge of Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas - Many Americans hang on to paper records that are too sensitive to be tossed in the trash. Documents of this type need to be shredded, mainly to protect confidential information as well as from identity theft.

ALLIANCE Credit Union is offering an effective solution while benefiting Hope Lodge, an organization that relieves emotional and financial burdens for patients diagnosed with cancer.

“We are very appreciative of ALLIANCE for their support and their Shred Day in our community which will provide the education and promotion of the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge,” said Hope Lodge Manager Robin Gardner. “The Hope Lodge is a 32 room lodging facility for cancer patients when they travel more than 40 miles into Lubbock for outpatient cancer treatment. We serve as a home away from home for cancer patients with our rooms and services provided completely free of charge to patients and their caregivers. All supplies donated will help us to better serve the daily needs of our patients at the Hope Lodge. Thank you ALLIANCE for your kind and gracious support of the Hope Lodge.”

Nick’s Shaved Ice will be at the event. All of Nick’s employees have special needs, such as autism or Down syndrome. Customer support gives young people a sense of empowerment and the reality that they are productive members of the Lubbock community.
